Tiger Skin Seized in Chhattisgarh

A ten foot long tiger skin was seized by the Forest Department in
Chattisgarh on 12 July 2006. Three people have been arrested.
Acting on information from the Wildlife Protection Society of India
(WPSI), a team of Forest officials made the seizure in the town of
Kanker. Preliminary reports suggest that the tiger was poisoned.
Investigations are on, under the supervision of Mr. Ram Prakash, the
Chief Wildlife Warden of Chattisgarh.
