With 23 national targets, India submits biodiversity protection plan to global body
1 Nov 24
As
part of its commitment under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity
Framework (KM-GBF), India submitted its National Biodiversity Strategy
and Action Plan (NBSAP) spelling out its 23 national biodiversity
targets during the conclusion of the annual United Nations conference
on biodiversity in Cali, Colombia.
India’s 23 targets are aligned with the three broad themes of the
KM-GBF treaty – reducing threats to biodiversity, meeting people’s
needs through sustainable use and benefit-sharing, and tools and
solutions for implementation and mainstreaming.
